- It's now an official site guys. I took the plunge
and bought the domain name. So for those of you
wondering why the site was "down" for a bit last
night, it was simply moved to a new folder. A tiny
part of me is planning an NBA and NHL version of the
league with the same attention to detail with stats
and videos etc., so I had the URL forward point to an
overall "BOL" folder leaving room for the other
sports. We'll just have to see. I'm also now openly
taking donations as the time requirement for this is
getting plain stupid. LOL.
-
- Speeding through the regular season the past few
days has been quite a rush. Watchin' tickers, taking
stats - even getting the privelege to watch and tape
other people's games. I still contest that going
slower next season will be just as much of a rush. A
bigger build-up to the huge matchups will be
awesome.
-
- To note, The Jets are now 9-0 after the scare of a
lifetime from Oakland. Oakland was within 3 points
with 2 seconds to go in the game. Little did those
watching the ticker realize that New York would kick
one last field goal to go up by 6 at the end. It's
still the closest that man has come to losing yet. I
do mean "man" by the way. He may be a
"kid" at 14, but at 9-0, he's a man in this
league. Sure would love to see him play Oakland again
in the playoffs.
-
- The #2 seed seems to be in Miami's hands, although
you'd never believe his last game. In fact it was our
very first overtime game
- and the final play...wow. Just wow. There's video of
it on the site. Such a big play. Easily the play of
the season. Had Marty just held off on the tackle
button for 1/2 second - he'd have knocked Miami out of
field goal range and gotten the ball back in overtime.
It was a brilliant play design by Miami, although he
was lucky to even be in the game. Marty fumbled on the
GOAL LINE in regulation running Kordell on a QB sneak.
It was absolutely heartbreaking. That, along with an
incredible loss to Houston, pretty much put the
Steelers out of the playoffs. Hell, the Texans have a
shot at the #6 seed! The Houston Texans! It's still
Philly's spot to lose, and they play each other
tonight at 11 CST. Incredible.
-
- Other than all the headaches at the beginning,
I've gotta say this season has become a success.
More than anything - we ironed out the wrinkles of a
league that's this complicated. Looking around the net
you'll see a lot of places "trying" to make a league,
but we've actually done it. My favorite site says
"We'll use the normal NFL schedule for all games, and
if there's few than 32 teams we'll change it
accordingly." LOL. Any clue how hard scheduling is?
Especially if you'd like each team to play each other
once? LOL. Good luck to them.
-
- In all honesty, you can't expect to have more than
20 people in one season of a league. There's just no
way some of the bottom 12 teams will be picked when
there's actual cash on the line. Ideally we'll have 20
people, 2 conferences, a 16 game schedule - and the
top 12 making it to the playoffs with an exact replica
of the NFL playoff structure. I'm hoping that will
happen for Season 2, but we're a good 7-8 people away
from that, so talk up the site. Luckily the pages are
filled with insane amounts of coolness right now, so
there's a lot to check out - the video page
especially.
-
- Alright, the next newsletter will be declaring the
end of the regular season and previewing the 2
wildcard games. Can't wait. Remember, at this point
just get all 10 games done - any order. We'd like to
start the playoffs on Friday, and have the Superbowl
by Sunday.
