NO WEEKS ARE COMPLETE!!! :-(

Adam's one pissed off little man right now. Pittsburgh completely blew off 3 games today and held up several others that were waiting for the completion of said games. The last time Marty played, the Raiders were favored to beat the Bucs in the Superbowl. I'm PISSSSED. I still haven't heard from him and I am just about ready to tell him to fuck off. But just a few more games, and the regular season is over. It's been one helluva trial run huh?

Anyway - I assume he'll be able to make up the games Sunday and the whole "go in order" rule is out the window now. I just didn't want to waste time. For now, the week that was, or in this cae the weeks that were. This is the week we found out who would go to the Superbowl undefeated! LOL. The New York Jets not only whooped my ASSSSSSSSSS - Oakland upset Miami in a 41-6 blowout. No one saw that coming. No offense to Oakland, but Miami was whoopin' on EVERYONE up to that point and it certainly didn't look like it was going to cease. Cease it did. Unfortunately, it was also a night of controversy as late in the 4th Quarter the connection broke right as Miami was about to go down by 21. (sigh)

I immediately called Miami long-distance and to his credit he said everything an honest person would. I know, I know, what's he gonna say "Uhm, I pulled it - kick me out"? He then immediately started the game back up, apologizing the whole way, and proceeded to get beat even worse the second time. It most likely was a bad case of "timing" on the cable modem, but unfortunately Miami will have the spotlight on him for the future. It sucks, but so does cheating, and even moreso the "thought" of a cheater in the league brings everyone down. In my honest opinion, it was not his doing. Hopefully this never comes up again. And thank GOD Oakland ended up winning again - 'cause that would've caused all hell to break loose.

I'm also now updating all the time. So you'll see some week 6 games updated even though Marty is on week 3. We just have to move along, and can't allow him to screw that up. So check all the weeks. As well the Leaderboard is updated and it's a bit strange. I did it by wins, then team rating. Hopefully we get caught up soon so we can understand it. Right now it's just screwy. It won't be next season. We need to make the regular season feel a bit more like a season and not a 2 week free-for-all. So next season all games for that week must be completed before you move on. Also stat keeping is nearly impossible to keep up with when there's 3 matches a night, all from different weeks. (Please note that this situation pleases the hell out of me much more than constantly being held up, but I need to find a feasible way for this league to continue - and as it stands, this is just too much.) But I believe one change will alleviate some of the problems. This will go into effect immediately: stats.

Stats are taken for scouting purposes. You want to be able to get an idea of your opponent's tendencies since we can't view the games, and it also gives a better sense of what occured in the game. Well after 4 weeks I'm realizing that all I want to know is what their total yards running and passing were for the game. Period. Nothing else really comes into play. Interceptions and sacks are nice, but it doesn't help me as a player. I can tell how their defense is by how many yards they allow. As well, we've been running into the problem of using 2 quarterbacks or running backs and then having to lose the stats for one, simply because they were lower. The bottom line is, all you need to know are the yards. It makes no difference "who". So starting immediately, here's the stats you'll take:

I know, you're all heartbroken aren't you. As much as you'll enjoy having to take less for the game to be "complete", it will help me tremendously in keeping up with the league - as well, we don't really lose much in terms of substance. On each team's stat page, you'll get your total rushing and passing yards, your opponent's total rushing and passing yards, and your average. Very simple. You won't have to worry about player names for anything other than your personal records. Oh yes, your personal records...

KNOW THEM BEFORE THE GAME

Many of you are still giving ALL the records of a game, whether they're personal records or not. I don't care if T. Henry broke one for 25 when last week he broke one for 45. Don't waste your own time! Know what your records are, and don't bother tracking new ones unless they're...RECORDS. LOL. If taking records for the opponent - just ask him! "Yo, is this 45 yard return a record?" "nope" "k...word."

Now the one stat that is here to stay, and that I absolutely love - is the good ol' Team Rating. It's making every yard count. The race for the 6 playoff spots is gonna be incredible. So learn and understand that stat. Know that although in the NFL, they just air it out at the end when they're down by 17 with a minute to go - you may want to punt. Handing a guy a field goal with a second on the clock is 30 points. And as you know the difference between #7 and #6 last week was 2.7 points. Wow. So play SMART.

Anyway, I think the changes I've put into place here will help keep the league thriving. I'm thrilled at how competitive it looks like this first season is going to be ('cept for the #1 seed), as well we already have a paid waiting list for Season 2. As soon as you've decided you will or won't take place in this next season (most likely starting in the last week of this month), please secure your spot by paypalling your $15 to me. Your team is your team for as long as you want it, but you of course are allowed to switch. Changes so far:

Adam of the Miami Dolphins takes the Seattle Seahawks
Spence of the Tampa Bay Bucs takes the Miami Dolphins
A new member, EvoHock, takes the Tampa Bay Bucs
Andrew of the Houston Texans takes the Green Bay Packers
Derek of the Buffalo Bills takes the Oakland Raiders
(this is all assuming everyone pays, some already have)

The current Oakland Raiders owner is currently deciding which team he wants to take. I had promised Derek the Raiders before the season started if anything happened to Scott. I have to keep that promise although a new owner "replaced" Scott. Everyone else can keep their team as long as they want it. Also realize there will more than likely be over 10 players next season (we want as many as possible, so talk it up!), and your $15 investment will gain you substantially more in the playoffs with more people. 10 players is pretty much scraping the bottom of the barrel for payouts. Next season should be awesome.

Alright, keep on truckin'. As of now we're still on the "kick-ass-fast" mode. Trying to get the regular season done by February 11th as Oakland is going out of town for a week. It'll be a nice break between the season and the playoffs. Hell, at this rate we may even have the playoffs done by then. What a run.
