THE BEST ONLINE LEAGUE NEWSLETTER 2.03   Monday, February 24th, 2003    I hate to do this on our very first update, but there's no reason for all of us to wiat with no end in sight for one game. Had I any idea when this game would be played, I would wait - but I don't. The game is Dallas at Oakland and I can't reach Oakland. He's not in danger of being kicked out by any means, but I just don't want to wait.   I think this is what I'm gonna like most about the Blue League. 2 games a week just sucks. It's too damn slow, but with 20 teams, you gotta take your time. With 2 leagues, you get 4 games a week and that's much more reasonable. So I cannot WAIT for the Blue league to start. We have 7 teams signed:   Chicago Bears New York Jets Oakland Raiders San Francisco 49ers Tennessee Titans Denver Broncos Philadelphia Eagles   If you'd like to take part, just lemme know. Lotsa great teams available. As well, 7 teams are signed in the NBA Red League:   Washington Wizards Boston Celtics San Antonio Spurs Dallas Mavericks Houston Rockets Milwaukee Bucks Portland TrailBlazers   And again, if you'd like to take part there - just let me know. And finally, the NHL league now has official rules and I'll start accepting teams NOW. Every single team is available, please let contact me as soon as you can.   Now, to the league at hand. What a killer first 2 weeks of games. If you're new to the league: TAKE YOUR TIME. Check out each page of the site. Enjoy the leaderboard, and read up on your upcoming opponents. These first couple weeks is where you truly get a feeling of how cool this league is gonna be. As the weeks progress a true NFL season emerges. It will feel like you're part of the NFL. The stats, the videos, the records - it's all there. Enjoy it.   Looking ahead, there are two killer matchups that will go a long way to determining the true talents in this league and they both involve the shocking New Orleans Saints. Week 3's Tampa at New Orleans, and Week 4's New Orleans at Chicago. If the Saints can somehow get through these 2 weeks 4-0, you're looking at a POWERHOUSE in the NFC.   Speaking of the NFC, they're so far the cream of the crop. As of now, they're easily the strongest division. The fact that the 2nd place team in the AFC is only 6th overall says a lot. If you're in the NFC, you have your work cut out for you.   And of course those of you who are 0-2...you have to continue to play hard. As it stands now, an 0-2 team would be in the playoffs. Your team rating is absolutely, positively CRUCIAL. Don't get blown out by 40. Hold onto the ball. If you're completely overmatched, RUN. If you lose with a team rating of -150, that's fine. If you lose with a -500, you're gonna be in some serious shit. All you have to do is play smart. As well, I know it's early, but don't give up anything. It's unfair to those who you played hard - to start handing away points late in the season. For most of you right now, this isn't a problem. But some unlucky mofo will be 0-10. It's just gonna happen. That dude needs to keep pushing and do his damndest to improve that team rating. Hell make it a game NOT to be 20th. LOL. Whatever, just always fight hard.   So now - start getting those week 3 and 4 matches going. Again, do not go past that until I write the next newsletter. Because of an emergency, the Chiefs had to play a few games ahead, but that is RARE. I just didn't want to be held back for 2 weeks. So just do games 3 and 4, and as always - have fun!
