12:00 AM - 2:30 AM, Thursday, April 18th, 1996:
Had to throw this in here. Saw Carmen again tonight when I was finisheing my editing. So when I saw Carmen on Monday, I asked her how her vacation was and she practically ignored me. I sharp, bitchy, "Fine". I just thought of it as "Carmen" being her stereotypical: bitchy black woman...she's like that sometimes. Tonight I asked her if she minded me doing production in the producers room where she sit. "Uhh, yes, I do." REAL bitchy like. I said Ok, then she goes: "No, I'll go in the news room." I finally said no problem, and walked away. So I went out to get some food while waiting for the production room where Hansel is to open up and it hit me. Her dear friend: "Dave" and how I must have DONE HIM WRONG or however he decided to spin it. What the fuck. Well great, this is highly professional.

11:00 PM - 6:00 AM, Friday - Saturday, April 19th - 20th, 1996: SHOW 128 (700 hours passed)
Mama said there'd be days like this....Actually my mother said nothing at all like that, but a great cliche to open up the entry. First hour was great. Did my Bulls stuff with clips from the lockeroom and some Lester and it went great...good time. The top of the hour comes, and NO NEWS. None, absolutely none, the feed simply was not there. So, I throw a spot on, look for it, but nothing. OK, so straight into the next hour I go...Oh man it was nerve racking. 2:00 nothing. This is a big deal, a talk show host kind of lives for those 10 minute breaks at the top of the hour. The talk was great, probably the best talk in a long time. I videotaped 20/20 and used some exerpts from it about racist rumors, and the lines stayed lit all night. It was great. Unfortunately, Angela had 50 obscene phone calls in 2 hours. What LOSERS. They aren't even getting on the air. Jesus. Then came BD. Of course no 3:00 break, and the prankers came. Basically ignored them, but when they start impersonating callers it gets difficult. Got through that. It was hectic and out of control, but we did it. A lot of people questioning Angela's scores, but I stood by her. Then the hour from hell. Yes, of course, no news, but it was so hectic I forgot the WEATHER. All hour. Of course it's a Tornado watch in effect....figures. Did the Pre Face-Off, thought it was the face-Off. It's nuts....finally we get a winner...I have yet to do BWF..oh, and of course the weather. At 5:00 Bill calls and he's mad....like I wanna talk to you on the phone not the mic mad. Upset I didn't do the weather, says I'm out of control, I'm talking down to listeners by calling them "people"...it was horrible...I felt horrible. He told me to play a song and get a hold of myself. Now I wasn't that out of control, but things were hectic. No break at the top of the hour? No news, alarms goin' off like crazy because of the weather, no news guy there to take the bulletins. It was nuts. 5:00 went great, and things got back to normal. Ethan came in and I told him about the ordeal, and I found out that he has to stay extra hours to help Dave tonight. That's right, my EX-producer Dave Ramos is back and he's gonna be running Reds games and ESPN.HUH?!?! I definitely won't question Bill but I just can't believe Dave's getting these types of chances...the boy left his job, mid-shift...twice. Twice. He's gonna explode again. Ah well. I'll be stewin' on this Bill thing all weekend though. Him being pissed is so jarring to me.

4:30 PM, Saturday, April 20th, 1996:
So Bill calls to talk a bit about the show. He made me feel pretty good about the whole thing. Says he wouldn't have called if he didn't care. That's a cool thing to say. I asked him about how he thought things were gonna go tonight with Dave, Carmen, Angela and me as we'd all be there at the same time and you won't believe what happened next: HE DIDN'T SHOW UP TODAY. Can you believe it? He didn't call, nothing, he didn't show up. So Bill left a message on his machine saying "that's it..." Wow, I honestly can't believe he'd fuck up his third chance before he even got it.

11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Saturday - Sunday, April 20th - 21st, 1996: SHOW 129
Greg comes in and tells me that we're gonna be off the air from 1:00 until 3:00. Wow. Bill had told me about this. Some sort of transmitter realignment stuff. Tweaking crap. So for one hour I talked about demoralizing losses. You struck out in the championship game in little league...something like that. It went well. Did BWF #97, and signed off at 1:00. Didn't get back until 4:00. Greg said that I could give away $50 anyway I wanted when we got back on. I guess this makes up for the 3 hours of boredom. It did. I said I'd give $50 to the first person who could sing my BD theme song without screwing it up. It was entirely too funny. Leon won it. Then we did a new improved BD in segments. It took a little longer because we started out at 4:30, but it will go from 3-4 like usual and then the Face-Off. Boring night but the people singing was funny - I made it into a bit.

12:00 AM - 2:00 AM, Monday, April 22nd, 1996:
Just produced Cannon. KP stayed the whole time and we talked. It was fun. As I was driving home, Cannon was already playing music. Wow. He's totally lost his creativity.
