This actually wasn't the next
movie we saw. But it came out before Titan A.E. so it
got the number 2 on it. We saw this one for the good
of Movie Minded. Neither of us really wanted to see
it, but we knew it would suck and that we could
balance out our 3 pilots for syndication. Oh yeah, we
found out we needed 3 pilots for syndication. Damnit.
So more work for no pay, just to meet some testing
requirements for I-Syndicate, the syndication
company.
We filmed both pilot 2 and 3 on
the same day, and it was quite a simple set-up. The
hard part is always the TVS and the timing, which
I film at home. I filmed the TVS in a shower
stall. The bathroom is always a great source for
light. I enjoyed these tvs. The writing was a lot
more fun and smart-assish. We now had the set-up
pretty well down. The bottom right tv was a guy we
named: "ANAL", and Bottom left was a guy we named
"GRUFF" - Basically the first 2 clones from
Mutiplicity. The Top Left TV was a character from the
movie, and Top Right would simply be words
representing my thoughts. I wanted it to be
pictures and video representing my thought, but time
and money constraints made that impossible. As it is,
each 5 minute episode is basically 25 minutes of
footage because of the tvs, so we had to just leave
top right as words.
As you'll be able to tell from the
episode, I can't play a black woman for shit.
I just yell a bunch. It's pretty comical. This
was definitely a step-up humor wise from the first
one, and a step in the right direction. A lot more
enjoyable than the movie. Heh
heh.
