Entry #99

Great bit, great idea, funny premise, funny set-up...

...100% fake as hell. Under the guise of radio show, a forum which leaves little room for such explanations I can let it go. But in "Journey Format", a place where I'm my most honest, I just can't make up some wild story. The Bottom line is I wanted desperately to do this for real, but I really fuggin' thought Andyman would kill me. Like seriously kill me.

I told him about the idea after we saw an advanced screening of the movie and he made no bones about it: I would be fired. Star Wars is a friggin' religion to him and he saw what we did with "Urban Legends".

So I half made the bit to make him think I had done it and watch him go ape shit, but I think I still ended up telling him the truth for fear of what he would do to me. Shit, the kids in line? Whatever. Andyman holds much more weight (literally).

To do the bit I got our crappy tape player and went outside with Tony Pazelt on Liberty and had him stand across the street and yell shit at me. Michael Palermo and Steve Gibson helped out as well. Then the rest was just me acting by myself running up and down the street. I know, weak as hell right? But the finished bit rocks. Seriously. It sounds legit, it was several people's favorite of all time. The hype for that movie was simply so big that the thought of someone seeing it early and ruining it for people who camped for weeks to see it... damnit I never should've told Andy.

Oh well. Still love it.
