Entry #51

A far bigger entry than the mp3 reveals. In an off the cuff remark before I head into "Vienna", I mention that I just got Billy Joel tickets for the following Tuesday. That show on November 11th, was the final catalyst for 4tvs. At the time of this recording, I had just drawn the infamous flux capacitor drawing:

...after getting the original idea at a Brian Setzer concert on the 3rd - but was stumped on how to go about pulling it off. Now Friday the 6th (early saturday morning the 7th) I had all but given up. I was happy at the show, happy in radio - and had all but let the idea of 4tvs slip away. The following Tuesady I saw Billy Joel at the Schott and that was it. I didn't care how much it cost, I wanted to perform in front of an audience and I wanted to blow their minds with the 4tvs concept.

The next day at work I started making calls to video-houses and met up with ABOT productions and the rest is history. But this moment right here was quite special as it was almost, almost - letting a great idea pass me by. I'm sure several of you out there have that one idea that you never "jump" with. Seriously, what do you have to lose? Isn't "what-if" a far scarier proposition than failure? Think about that.

Anyway, in the middle of the night I liked doin' my own Big Rooms 'cause it was fun. Usually had a crowd there so I could just sit and play some tunes. Tonight we had a cool fast version of Sleep, Baby Sleep - as well as a jazzy version of Vienna.
