I've
pretty much realized that your 20's are filled with
stupid "I'm old" moments. You're not really, but it
makes you feel good to joke about it. I assume when
you're in your 30's and 40's you've moved passed it,
but as a "Twenty-Something" it's fun to revel in it.
A
Teenager alive today, was born in the
90's.
If
you're in your 30's you say, uhm, yeah - 1990 +13 is
2003. But in your 20's you're blown the hell away. The
90's was like...just yesterday. That can't be
possible. I mean this little dude was ONE during
the Gulf War and now he can get some chick
pregnant.
Sorry
'bout that one dad.
So
yes, Kenny is 13. And here is my 4th
birthday
song
to him. Who knew my 7th entry back in 2000
would become a yearly tradition of silly
B-Day songs to my favorite brother. It's a
bunch of things roled into one. Hopefully
he digs em of course, but it's like a sign
of time passing too. My brother, who was 9
when I rolled out of Columbus is now
a teenager. I want you to all go:
DAMN.
I guess
I also like trying to throw a mirror up to my
failures. LOOK at THIS Adam! You suck! It makes
me laugh in a way. I'm in such a strange point in my
life right now. I just don't know what the hell is the
right direction - so I just keep taking steps
forward. Well I say forward, but it may be
sideways. But I've certainly given up on worrying
about that.
I'm
happy just to be content right now. It sucks. It's not
necessarily the makings of a famous person. It just
is. At work, I made 2 new patient files, filled
out the cards correctly, got through to the insurance
companies got all the info, and generally kicked ass.
That made me happy all day.
It
may be a true indication of just how low I've been.
Just how far removed I've been from everyone's normal
happiness in life. Ya know? I bet you all never even
think about how normal life makes you content and
satisfied...until you've lost it for so long. Now,
wasn't this about Kenny's birthday?
Dear
Kenny,
Yo.
13. Do you realize I was 14 when I held you the
first time? Whew. Time is flyin' by. What I really
want to say to you, more than anything in the world,
is BE CAREFUL. If you're anything like I was -
girls are approaching your number one priority in life
and that won't change anytime soon. Just try to
balance things out and get your work done. I think my
dad warend me about drugs and cigarettes when
I turned 13. He didn't need to, but you just
kinda have to as a dad. Same as with a brother. So
stay away from it. Treat it like pure evil - because
it's a complete waste of time. I'm sure you've seen
what it has done to people you know. Stay
away.
Heh,
I'd also probably tell you to stay away from chicks as
they're nothing but trouble but you won't even begin
to listen to that. Just be careful. If you have ANY
questions about things that you don't want to talk to
dad about - CALL ME. You know me man, I'll tell it
like it is immediately. I don't screw around. I'm not
embarrassed, I'll just let ya know.
Otherwise
- enjoy your day. Enjoy your video. And hopefully I'll
be back in C-Bus soon.
Adam
Someday
I'll be able to buy him cool shit. You can say all you
want about how a song, or "making something" for
someone's birthday means more - but when you get that
4 years in a row, you gotta feel gypped a little bit.
Ahh well. You give what you can in the end - and
that's waht I have. He'll just have to deal with
it.
It
is a funny video though. I'm starting to think I'm
really sick. I interract way too easily with myself in
a split-screen. Strange indeed.
Oh
and I promised that Buckeye video to you all, it's
done - but the 10th of January will always mean one
thing.... B-DAY video:
