Journey God Strike!!!
Readers that are
going through this one after another may not realize
just how close these two entries are. I wrote the last
entry, I then went to sleep (early, still getting over
the Inauguration cold) and when I woke up in the
morning I checked my email. I highlighted and was a
moment from deleting what was clearly spam, when
I noticed I had the same email 3 times - and
gmail is impeccable at catching this shit. So I
decided to open the email with the subject:
"Phillipines Inquiry - Urgent".

We are a team from Kapuso Mo, Jessica
Soho (KMJS)(One at Heart with Jessica
Soho), a weekly news-magazine television
program of GMA Network, Inc. The show
discusses national and international
issues. It tells different stories of
life, of culture and of failures and
victories. As the title suggests, it is
hosted by the country’s premiere
broadcast journalist Jessica Soho. She is
one of the recipients of GEORGE FOSTER
PEABODY FOR INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM, NEW
YORK FILM AND TELEVISION FESTIVAL and many
other award-giving bodies in the
Philippines and in other countries.
We are currently doing a story about
Video Blog. Part of the elements we are
about to feature is the first person who

Does it get more
random than that? And, wow, were the Journey Gods
sleeping for a year and then woke up, went "oh shit"
and whapped their sceptors while mumbling
"International publicity for The Journey". And how in
fuckity fuck does it happen the next day? I
know I always say the whole Journey God is just a nice
romantic way to weave this story but when shit like
that happens? I mean I wrote the most over-the-top
"PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE will some shit happen
already" entry, I go to sleep, and I get this email. I
can do nothing but throw my hands up. That shit is
amazing.
So I reply
very simply with my phone number (this was this
morning, Saturday) and this evening I got one of the
more humorous phone calls of my life as this woman was
trying desperately to communicate with me. I can
hardly make fun of anyone's poor english because -
they're bilingual and I'm not. So who the fuck am I to
give them shit right? But she emailed me a list of
questions they want me to videotape answers for and
then email them the files - and this was a glorious,
glorious read. All I can say is,

How wonderful is
this? On how many levels is this just... a big smile.
You know? Like you have to just smile. How fortunate.
I mean, how else could you ever experience something
this random and happy unless you lived the life I have
for the last 9 years. Think about this for a second.
Because I decided to attach a video of me smuggling
J-Dog into our hotel as we moved to LA... and then
just decided to keep going? People in the fucking
PHILIPPINES want to interview me. Huh? It's so goddamn
baffling that I fully expect this to lead to more and
more publicity. This one little piece aired on the
other side of the planet is going to be in front of
EVERY freaking network and news station
I can find and it's going to change the course of
my life.
This is
exactly what I was talking about when the
Wikipedia thing came out last month (December). Guess
where these peeps looked? Oh, and by the way,
Wikipedia solved the dispute by putting both me and
the other dude in the timeline - with me being first.
Which is the truth. So... hooray for cooler heads
prevailing there. But yeah, this should be the start
of an avalanche. So now I am on overdrive to get
allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll 850 videos up on
YouTube and properly linked and I have someone else
working on a more "RSS Feed" friendly wordpress
version as well. Oh and of course - I need to
answer those questions... tomorrow.

Yes, I'm putting
this together during the Superbowl. All the guys are
here screaming, and I'm on my laptop. Yup, that's
me.
I
answered all the questions as best
I could and uploaded a very dry
version to them so they can edit it all
together. But for this entry's video I
kinda just condensed a few and added some
overlays to keep it interesting. 'Cause,
as I've mentioned before, video blogs
where they just talk to the camera? Shoot
me. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Anyway,
