FATS BILLIARD EMPORIUM 2

SETUP

Easy set-up. By far the fastest. Now have a monitor so I can set the mix better. Not much to report as far as the set-up is concerned.

THE PERFORMANCE
10 SECOND VIDEO CLIP (219K)
SET 1: OPEN 1 - PARODY 1 - LOVE
SET 2: RHYTHM - UNPLUGGED - PARODY 2
SET 3: HATE - STRONGER - PARODY 2 - ABBEY ROAD

Good show voice-wise. To tell you the truth, it's the low to mid range notes that are a bitch. My range is a bit too big sometimes... I have no problem hitting the hi-crazy-ass-michael-jackson-notes, but once I do - going back down is tough. The only tough part about the performance was that no one was there. It was a DEAD night. 10-12 people that I knew came throughout the show, but no more than 6 or so at one time. And other than my friends it was empty. It's kind of a catch 22. I've been told I can't play the bigger nights (Friday and Saturday) unless I can guarantee a crowd, but if no one new sees me on the nights that I do play - how they gonna know to come back! From talking to local musicians bringing 15-20 people (norm so far for the show), is awesome on an off-night for the bar. Problem is, I can't bring any more until more people see it! Oh well... In time young Jedi, in time...

THE REACTION

Nothing really stands out. Had a couple talk to me and say it was very interesting. Then proceeded to talk about how kick ass their karaoke show is. (sigh) Gave me their card. I think this is why I don't want business cards. I never want to be that sleezy. "Hey, you were great tonight...here's my card, I do a great act..." AND KARA-GODDAMN-OKE TO BOOT! The bain of my existence. If I hear one more bar owner say: "Nah, ain't interested, Karaoke does reeeeel good fer us..." They were a nice enough couple, but trying to persuade me that they do good karaoke, well it ain't gonna happen. Their one complaint on my show was strange though: "...it says 'hearing my thoughts'...uhm...you're all over the place, you must have a lot of thoughts..." And they had these troubled looks on their face like this was a real troubling point. Whew...yeah, I am all over the place. But...shit can't even defend it, I had NO CLUE what they were talking about. They had other suggestions which again came down to time & money. Yeah, I really wanted to dress up like each one of the Beatles during The Abbey Road Set, but again I hadn't the time or the money to pull it off. If I can ever sit down and really script out a set - WOW! It can be fantastic. So much interraction! So much potential!
