HOLIDAY INN ON THE LANE Ashley's Lounge

THE PERFORMANCE
SET 1: OPEN - HARRY - LOVE - RHYTHM
SET 2: PARODY 2* - BURG - ABBEY
*did NOT play Chest Hair...

As you can see, pretty laid back set. It was an older crowd and it felt right to just kind of groove a bit. Certainly not the normal bar crowd. The Lantern photographer actually showed up during the first set, I guess that goes in reaction. Heh. I sang good, most laid back show I've done for sure.

THE REACTION
Hotel guests: 23 x $5 = $115
Other guests: 8 x $5 = $40
CDs sold: 3 x $10 = $30
Tips: $12
Grand Total: $197

Well that's certainly a round about way to get $200 for a gig. The reaction was almost non-existent. I felt like I was walking on egg shells. People just kinda looked up at me with these quizzical looks on their faces. Some people smiled a bit, but overall it was just strange. This drunk guy got really loud halfway through and started yellin' shit at the bartender and stormed out. I thought he was yelling about me from onstage...but I may be wrong. It was humorous as he was so much louder than everything else going on including me. That's what I think people don't realize abotu the show... I can hear everything you're saying - we're doing a capella most of the time. We. :-) But people talk like there's this brick wall between us: "He can't hear us way up there" they think. Yes I can, and her boobs do look good.

:-)

The Lantern guy was laughin' though. He was cool as hell, we talked in between sets. He said he got a good shot of the guys makin' fun of the mustached Adam in the Rhythm Set. It was cool to talk with him and I'm doing a full interview with Josh tomorrow. I can't tell you how honored I am that they're featuring me. I know it's just a college paper (granted one of the biggest campuses in the world), but I can't even believe they find it newsworthy. I mean I know IIIIII do, but I'm always suprised when it goes beyong my ego. Ha.

The ad in the paper, along with this article on the 28th should really make a new younger crowd come in. That's all we can hope for.
