- I really need to
finish my Laura video. All of these Journey songs were
kind of pre-loaded and scheduled so it makes the entries
kind of awkward. We had a very small memorial yesterday
with a few friends and family and it was so, so, so much
harder than I thought it would be. It wrecked me for the
day man. Then I look up and
BOOM ROBOT MONSTER is up. You know,
TOTALLY the mood I'm in right now....

- The
entry from 15
years ago is so funny. I'm basically so enamored that I
can do this on a cell phone which now seems so obvious -
but in 2011, it was fuckin' crazy. A $4.99 app that you
can literally professionally produce a song on the
toliet. I did the original in like 5 minutes while on the
couch at my mother-in-law's apartment. Actually we
weren't married yet so she was just Karen - lol.
For the reboot I just had a fucking blast. The rhythm is
so fun, the piano is so fun, the groove is so fun and I
just couldn't bring myself to replace the vocals. That
mumbled Leon Redbone impression while literally READING
the SFX on garageband is just, right.

- And also, can you
tell I'm just having fun? Like - can you tell this is
what I'd do every day of my life if I could? It's just
soooooooooo in me. It's funny I was talking to Randy this
morning (CD101) and he's like "dude some of these songs
are really really good - I can't believe the diversity of
your talent." To which I repied "Yeah it's really
impressive until it occurs to you that I'm CLEARLY
underachieving. LOL" Like, whoever happens upon this
monstrosity when I'm gone will have to be quite
conflicted, right? Anyone with THIS MUCH TALENT
should be doing SO MUCH MORE... right?

- Or, that dude chose
happiness and is fucking beaming. The bills are paid, my
family is happy, we're surviving the downfall of
democracy... I can't imagine being happier if this was
actually my JOB. Who knows man - but I do love me
some Robot Monster.
