We interrupt your regularly scheduled Journey Project broadcast to give you a trip to Disneyland at Halloweeeeeeeeeeeen...

Good stuff. Yeah - those 3-day park-hopper passes at Costco were one helluva deal and I'm pretty glad they were my only fever dream spend when I thought I was gonna be a millionaire. Insanely good deal even for a middle-class family and this trip was super memorable because we left a bit early to eat at a great pizza place in Anaheim and we got gelato. Oh and that's where I found out that my middle-school friend Justin died... shit that is burned in my brain with that pizzeria now. Cancer, 49. FUCK. Two school-aged kids. FUCK.

(sigh)

But Disney was fun, lots of cool moments and new memories. Looks like the last trip on December 19th will indeed be our last as a family for the foreseeable future. While cool? It ain't little kid cool. Evvvvvverything is shifting and I think we all just want to do different things as a family, ya know? Stuff we haven't done. I don't know how people go to this park over and over... we certainly overdid it thanks to knowing a staff member when they were super little - but now? We've seemingly done it all. Christmastime however will be awesome. Excited for that.

Sad for my friend and his family - what a gut-punch...
