(The Journey Project 002 - VRLOG 184)
6:21 AM, Sunday, October 12th, 2025:

Oh, this song...

This is one of those lost stories in The Journey - but uggggggh it sucked at the time. A woman named Rain from Nashville contacted me through IMs after hearing my songs (45 songs in 2005, btw - JESUS) and wanted to book me for her blues/jazz lounge in Nashville. She contacted me on November 13th, the gig was for their one-year anniversary party on December 17th. Travel included she would give me the details on Tuesday. The specifics clearly made me believe her - and sent me SOARING for a couple days. Of course... she never responded back and I had no other way of contacting her except through IM. These stories are a dime a dozen, but man... it got one helluva song...

Man, I feel this song in my SOUL. It applies to so, many, chapters of my life. That's life in a talent-driven competitive field... the vultures come out. Now, I'm sure this lady was just embarrassed because she couldn't book me for whatever reason - but to be GHOSTED on top of that... JESUS. So much of 2000-2010 was just outright depression that every morsel of good fortune became EVERYTHING. This was quite a shitty way to end the year... this also lead to the gloriously sad "Abandon Me" the following month. Of course that had more to do with relationships than a random stranger... but this shit didn't help - lol.
