(The Journey Project 001 - VRLOG 183)
10:29 AM, Friday, October 10th, 2025:

So all of these videos are on a pre-determined release schedule to pull off 10 per month which means these entries are gonna be weird. Like - I want to tell you last night they gave us free chocolate sake at this sushi restaurant for my 50th birthday (who gives free alcohol to people on their birthday!?!) and Talya and I proceeded to get so sloshed we had to call Paddy to drive our car home with us in it. Literally has never happened to me in my life.,. but hey - free chocolate sake, amirite!?

Today also kicks off the first of the songs and wouldn't you know - there's a complete Verizon outage and although YouTube and DeoVR are scheduled, TikTok most definitely isnt (it's in my drafts and I have to publish it) so we had to drive all over looking for service. Good times. Working now though...

I'm Alright! One of my favorite songs from back in the day - here's the original entry (I'm not embedding the entry bar and video for each of these songs for a year - fuuuuuck that).

Long story short: I was being flown out to NY not because I won Living Room Live... I actually lost - but they wanted me to announce the winner 'cause they all just really liked me. That seemed at the time totally implausible, they had to have more in store, right? But in fact ended up being true. However my crazy ass stayed in NY for a fucking MONTH and bugged them repeatedly until they offered me my own web series introducing the next round of Living Room Live: Kids edition. Just realizing how crazy that is that I pulled that off. This song was before that however, basically just telling myself: even if they've got nothing more planned, you'll be alright: you've got The Journey...

Fun adding a new verse to that about Virtual Presence. For a couple of these songs I'm able to do that (if it applies). Funny note on the video - you see my eyes look up at the screen to see where I am in the song because at that exact moment I realized I probably should've ended it at the new verse instead of repeating the first one... but it was too late to redo all this shit. <shrugs> I like the song - having an extra couple seconds is no biggie...

...but this is a good reminder to everyone what these performances really are: just that, a performance. These aren't complete songs, I would probably redo things if they were. I certainly wouldn't record my voice and piano at the same time, etc. However for the purposes of this project I think it's important people see me actually playing and singing it live to the camera.

So there you are! Next song hits Sunday!
