Is it bean spillin' time?

<thinks>

I think it's bean spillin' time.

Good lord - what was the last unlocked entry with any info?!?!?! Hang on...

Alright - August 4th. (sigh) Here's the overview... well, shit - I don't even know. Goddamnit.

The truth is, I haven't the slightest fucking idea what happened. Everything I was told would happen - didn't. Made the test for a June release, they didn't release it. Talked in July and they said they'd do it in a few days... and they didn't. All of it was waiting for the first pre-season game on 8/7 for a release on 8/10 for testing. That also didn't happen. Unresponsive for weeks then they simply said they're putting it on ice.

Mind you - I've never gotten ANY feedback, ever. Not even sure anyone has even watched these things. That Seattle shoot? It was unFUCKING real. That's the locked entry "Impossible to ignore". I mean, Pete knocked it out of the park. His belief in this and outright GRABBING me and talking directly to the camera to bring the viewer closer into the game? FUCK man - it's breathtaking stuff. VP is the first person he talked to after hugging the coach at the Seattle game - makes a B-Line for you and gets you fired up at their comeback. Hell I even got a touchdown IN FRONT OF ME... the new reel was just beat you over the head and they had delayed releasing anything until that game (which all but assured we couldn't be ready for the regular season... but we had no choice) and the result was stunning...

...and I don't think anyone at the Raiders even saw it. Why would they pay for something they won't even watch? No idea. It feels that the powers that be just delayed it all summer so when they decided to walk away no one would care because they were too busy with actual football. Doesn't matter that the owner or the head coach loved it - that's a summer fling - lol - it's fall now, and, well, they're a football team - easy to walk away... even though it wasted our ENTIRE summer for other teams. I guess that's how you get excusivity, huh?

Except the above paragraph? An absolute guess. I have no feedback, no notes, no... I mean nothing. You can guess forever but everything I guess could've easily been resolved, ya know? Like - maybe Pete was in it too much? That's a note. Maybe they wanted it to be more narrative? That's a note. Maybe they thought it was infringing on their own "Behind the Shield" show? That's a note. You simply communicate and we figure it out. When there's zero communication (and again, months of videos with ZERO FEEDBACK) you just accept they never intended on releasing this and just decided to run out the clock. Oh the football analogies...

Where does that put us? I mean, same place we were in January - except the end of this year is gonna be quite difficult to make anything out of. Media Day for NBA is at the end of this month... Hef has feelers out for the other teams we've been dealing with - but they all knew about the Raiders thing and were waiting to see the rollout so they could understand this better. The Raiders not even TESTING it means this looks even more complicated (when it's honestly easier than ever before).

And the other just gut-punch is this: I cannot think of a better situation with any team than what we just had. The buy-in from the coach, the buy-in from the players... they hype around The Raiders this year - the fanbase?!!? It was perfect. I mean, perfect. Had it been released on 6/15 - the time to build up the hype for the season? Oh good lorrrrrrrd we could've had so, many, subscribers. I also nailed the turnaround for this footage within HOURS - I proved that side of it... the results were honestly so much better than I thought possible... I just don't know of a team/situation that will ever be this good. The best we can hope for now is the team does just well enough to get people SUPER hyped during next year's off-season and they're willing to pull the trigger then? We certainly didn't burn a bridge, we jumped through every hoop and beat every expectation. So I guess there's that.

So you sing songs...

Fun angle.

The disbelief will take awhile. This is a little different than the SuperBowl smack. Took a week of molasses and then the new fight began - now? I've been in molasses for 2 months. It's been bad allllllll summer. And the end result is so inconclusive - especially since everyone was waiting to see how it turns out - the next steps are hard. I have a meeting next week and we're back to that 2024 road of just random meetings and seeing where it takes us... but it's very clear that this situation could very well have been the peak. I think you need to accept that to even move on. I was able to top the Superbowl/NFL Media letdown (the Raiders situation was far superior in both scope and payment) but it's hard to imagine a scenerio that does more for the company and the format than this would've.

But I'm still breathing, which means I'm still going.
