- Good lord,
TEN DAYS? I swear it's been 3. Beware the
VR world folks, it can readjust your
life.
-
- So as promised in the
last entry, I had to make a flat video essay to
properly explain what the hell is going on...
-
-
- Those opening shots
of the arcade were so FUCKING hard I can't begin to tell
you. Easy enough to do in VR, crazy difficult when trying
to screen capture in a nicer resolution on PC rather than
doing it in headset. But whew, it's done. Did it during
timeouts and halftime during the Laker game yesterday.
Oh, and they're also done. Luka... whew. I had no idea
what defensive liability meant until I really watched you
play. Goodness. To be outshined by a 40 year old (3
blocks and 3 steals yesterday)?!?! You need an off-season
training regimen. Not to quote Nico, but yeah, uhm,
defense wins championships brother. Could he legit be too
slow to do it? Is the only way he ever wins is if his
co-star is a bonafide center? Whew.
-
- ANYWAY...
-
- So yeah, I've gone
pretty deep into the arcade side of EmuVR, to the point
of talking to the dude releasing the Ultimate Arcade hack
and helping him test stuff. He's even made some cabinets
specifically by request and I've been learning how to
make my own UGC (it's hard). The whole community is
amazing (shoutout to xStartoy in France!) and for once I
feel like I'm part of a community that won't hate me if
I'm good at something or tell me I'm not a TRUE fan.
Fucking hell. xStartoy even shared his screen with me and
walked me through setting up modeling through Blender and
Unity and outputting it as UGC for EmuVR. That's how
I was able to get the Fastest Delorean posters in
the arcade (yeah you don't just import pics!). Cool
people all around.
-
- Anyway - I also
made a VR180 version of this video because that crowd
HAS to see this and there's no viable way to capture
this stuff in VR180 (even though there damn sure should
be). You have to do it super low-res and it's just a
problem. So here's that...
-
-
- And now I can
focus on a memorial video for a guy you should all know,
and sadly - you didn't: Sam Macaroni.
