It is wildly unreasonable that I shot over an hour of 8k60 raw footage this morning and was able to edit it and overlay the Switch 2 presentation in a 3D space and have it all finished and uploaded the same day (while also going to Vienna's basketball practice for a new league!). It's a bummer that I'm a bit behind on unlocking videos or everyone would be super impressed with the turnaround. I can assure you NO ONE ON THE PLANET is attempting turnarounds like this. And the fact that my last three entries are a 67 minute video and two 21 minute videos? In 8k60 RAW?!?!?! I am taxin' this PC like a mofo. Here's hoping the workflow I've figured out will someday be rewarded with a contract. LOL.

ANYWAY

So here it is! The big Switch 2 reveal. Cam and I woke up super early to pull this off and we were far too tired to freak out. In fact I begged him to not be the normal screaming Youtuber at 6:11am. He plays it quite well... I just wanted to capture the moment for us because it's just a special moment. Ya know? He was too young for this 8 years ago so he's getting to do a legit launch of a Nintendo console and it's just exciting. My first launch day Nintendo was 1996 with the N64. Stoked to be doing this with my kid nearly 30 years later. Enjoy the subdued reactions...

So there we go. Oh and it wasn't in the presentation, but the price is a tariff-worthy $449 and $499 with Mario Kart World. I guarantee you the reason they didn't put the price in the direct is because they were unsure eactly what the economic situation was gonna be with this tariff crazy start to the year. I swear I have never seen a president ever impact the lives of so many so quickly. It was different in the democracy days, but in the executive order world - all bets are off. A fundamental reshaping of our country is well underway and it's only gonna get worse...

...however that doesn't explain why the fuck a digital download costs $79.99. And apparently the physical versions of some games will be $89.99? So - a hundred bucks with tax? What on EARTH. I knew $59.99 wasn't gonna last, but holy shit. All my gaming has been VR and PC these days and to say the VERY LEAST I have been paying pennies on the dollar. This is a lot to wrap my head around. Cam is still somewhat into it, he clearly understands the Nintendo magic when it comes to games... they really just have a "feel" other games don't. I mean - it's been over 25 years since the last 3D Donkey Kong game came out. They take great care to sweat the details and even the companies they partner with have the watchful eye of Nintendo on their ASSSSSSS. Their games are just different.

A hundred dollars however is fucking CRAZY pants. This ain't GTA VI. Fuck me. So, not exactly sure how this generation is gonna go for Nintendo. If I were them I would've launched at the $399 price, maxed out games at $69.99 and weathered the tariff storm (which may come and go in months) to assure the Switch 2 got off to a strong start. This could be a 3DS situation where they have to backtrack because this is a LOT of money for what to many people will feel like a minor upgrade.

Time will tell!
