6:45 PM, Monday, January 27th, 2025:

Holy crap did the rebrand happen already?!?!? I cannot believe how good this Monday is. LOL.

So, I invited Kuya back (he was our first guest in January 2024) because he had the unenviable position as the mark of DEATH on the company. Within hours of his visit I received the email that the SuperBowl was cancelled and I spent the entirety of 2024 trying to bring my company back to some sort of standing. Most people would shy away from a guest like that - but not me! I like the dude so I figured - let's have a REDO. Let's rebrand him and see if the opposite can happen. So here's the video, then to what happened...

Now I mention it in the video, but seemingly just by booking Kuya I got some good news: the oft-delayed meeting with the USC Marshall School guy was booked for tomorrow and I realized (since he was AT the press conference today with Pete Carroll) that he was WAY closer to Pete than I understood and that Pete wasn't just talking at the class once: it's his class. He's coming back weekly - even as the new head coach of the Vegas Raiders. Whew. So presuming his friend likes this, it would stand to reason I will indeed be able to show this to Pete. Why is that better than ALL of the people I've met with for the past year? He's a decision maker. Simple as that. If he wants this for his class, hell if he wants this for his team? He can make that happen. Nearly everyone I've met with the past year has been a LEVEL of decision making that needed another level and that's where it continues to stall.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL FOLKS.

Inexplicably, after zero responses from the Fan Duel peeps in New York - the literal COO responds that he wants to do a zoom call on 2/11.

<blink>

Hef and I figured this was dead. I mean, the fact that the lady who set this up initially was fired and then AFTER that sent out an introductory email is already unheard of awesome. Ya know? Like - she did NOT have to do that and I'm embarrassed to think of what I would have done if I was unexpectedly let go of a company - but she did me a MASSIVE solid and one which after a couple weeks of emails simply wasn't working. And then it did. And now I'm getting the chance to talk to him and set up a trip to NY to finally show the decision-makers what we've already shot and see if we can't finally land the distribution contract that we were talking about last summer.

So here's to the meeting tomorrow and here's to the Kuya Rebrand!
