Entry #1

8:18 PM - January 2nd, 2000...

Springfield, Missouri,

We finally made it. Whew. We're giggling right now at the weather report. Ohio gets nothing but rain and snow, and once we hit Oklahoma ('bout an hour) we are home free. What a first 12 hours. So many things going through my mind right now.
Entry #2500

8:18 PM, January 2nd, 2025:

Columbus, Ohio,

If you had shown me the city I was typing from 25 years ago I would INSTANTLY think nothing worked out and I had to move back home. Instead, we're simply visiting and are able to set-up an extremely surreal side-by-side (spatially correct if you're in a headset) of New Year's Eve 25 years apart. GET YOUR HEADSET AND WATCH THIS!

So this entry is almost impossible to actually do correctly. Annually, this is the "Hopes and Dreams" entry where I get into what I want to accomplish in 2025. Of course, the 25th Anniversary of the first and longest running video blog SHOULD be far more. I guess I could've hired a publicist last year and gotten some press for this but if you're not monetizing anything - it simply doesn't make any sense. It would just be for ego and I'm just too damned determined to make Virtual Presence work to have any sort of ego about The Journey. The thing is? It will always be here. When the time is right to push the insanity of the project, I will. Maybe it's for the release of Volume 3? Maybe when I'm able to pair down the first to volumes into a more proper TV series (which I think is just a better way to enjoy the story). Who knows. For now of course I pay it tribute because it's absolutely crazy to be in the same room 25 years later and I move onto what's ahead...

A meeting with the Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the USC Marshall School of Business to show him what Virtual Presence can produce for an upcoming class they're giving with a masterclass of speakers from Will Ferrell to Ron Howard to Pete Carroll. This was a result of the "Remember December" entry last month that got pushed to 2025...

...and the Hef has already contacted the head of some branch of the sales department as we attempt to line up the sponsors for this weekly shoot/daily distribution plan with Fan Duel. The woman who set-up the January 8th meeting (and was then fired) reached out and introduced me to her boss so it looks like that's all still a possibility soon.

There's no stopping the momentum no matter how annoying parts of 2024 were. It set-up where we are now and I'm pretty stoked to get back to LA and continue the fight. We're all gonna hang with Jess, Jeff and Zoe tomorrow night bringing everything full circle.

Crazy how life works sometimes, ain't it?

PS - that was easily one of the best starts to a Buckeye game I've ever seen... 34-0 in the 2nd quarter? Even against a team like Akron they've never started that strong. I just cannot believe how confused Oregon seemed. We absolutely seem destined to roll to the National Championship and, yes, it is making that Xichigan game sting a tiny bit less - but I'll still never understand why they refused to establish their passing game against them. Oh well - new year... moving on. GoBUCKS.
