12:34 PM, Sunday, June 16th 2024:   Goodness I don't want to do this anymore.   Fixed the alternator got the batteries replaced and the car is running fine again... but still driving over an hour on LA Freeways at night still sucks. A lot. However, one thing made this fun. OH WAIT THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER THIS FUCKING GUY.   So because it was gonna be hot and I had some extra tows (I get four 100 mile tows per year with AAA) I decided to just tow it there and drive it back. This fuck noise decided to ignore the GPS (and my pleading to follow the GPS) and take the 405 because he knew better.   Me: "I don't know man, something's going on - it's like an extra 45 minutes longer on the 405. I really think we should listen to this."   Him: "I always go this way, we'll be fine."   Now - I left like TWO HOURS of time so it didn't really matter if it took an hour longer, but I was pretty annoyed. ANd wouldn't you know - we get on the 405 and the time goes UP. We're right at the Getty where we could get off. I get an alert on my phone that literally says "ROAD CLOSED. GET OFF HERE." Fucker still wouldn't budge. We've now added 90 minutes and then he goes past the last exit and we're at a standstill and the arrical time goes up one minute per minute we're there. My ass is now going to officially be late. I got this tow specifically to assure I got there and now this. Stunned.   Wouldn't ya know? Biden and Obama are in town and that's the issue - they're coming from LAX to a fundraiser. After maybe another 30 minutes they open the road back up and we start moving and this cock waffle says "See, I told you this would be faster."   Has a tow truck driver ever been murdered? I wanted to murder a tow truck driver. I love tow truck drivers. Honest to fuck - some of my favorite people, always have great conversations. I should know, I've had like 25 of them in the last 7 years... nbut THIS guy. Anyway - we get there on time (barely) and I was just thankful. Also - I got my man Rusty a gig for the party and it was a good time had by all. Gave me the opportunity to have Rus introduce HIS Delorean as Doc and I figured the VR180 crowd would enjoy it...     The ride home was uneventful, oh, and the reason I couldn't use my truck and trailer was overnight parking. Nearly impossible in my neighborhood to park a flatbed and truck on the street and you can't drop-off after closing with U-haul. So I can really only tow it if it's a place putting me up overnight. <shrugs> But thank you to the Delorean Gods for making it through another gig. Until VPP takes off... I welcome the work.   Adam
