That was one of the more special days of my life...

Creating and sharing art is pretty much the backbone of my life. I mean, duh. From drawings as a kid, to songs, to then 4tvs... then movies to of course The Journey and documentary films - you create in a vacuum and then release and other than with live performances like 4tvs? There's often little to no feedback. Sure there's comments and emails, but other than screenings for Fastest Delorean? You don't feel that connection...

...this was different. I labored over this all month and it's something people experience, rather than view. And thanks to a suggestion from Jesse, they will now feel this because gone is the cement mixer idea, replaced with a haptic VR vest. DUH. I considered buying these for the past several years and it just didn't occur to me how well it could work for this ride because I was focused on making the whole car shake. Hope to secure one of these badboys soon.

But to have a group of friends (all with differing relationships to BTTF) try this first? Oh man. Felt so good. I recorded it more to be able to line up the footage later to see EXACTLY how people react to each part. Though it will probably end up being used in a commercial, it's really for my inner-nerd to tweak everything.

My biggest takeaways are this: if you're not a BTTF fan, this will simply be "neat". My friend Gary thought it was super professional and enjoyed it, but didn't really understand what it took to put it together, he just knows I do professional level shit and liked it...

...if you are a BTTF or delorean fan? Oh goodness. You're gonna be smiling from ear to ear the entire time. I called it "middle-aged man joy" while recording Jesse and Rusty because they were just "MOUTH-AGAPE" smiling and giggling like little kids. It was wonderful. Oh and speaking of little kids? They will react like someone tried to hit them with a baseball and it's super, super fun to watch. Cannot wait to throw more kids into this thing.

And finally, Don - I mean, what can you say. The fact that I caught him saying "fuck" on film is just wonderful. He never lets that one slip... but he was quite impressed.

So just... goddamn, a wonderful night. Sippin' some whiskey with friends while sharing something I worked on so hard... it's one of my favorite days. Today was for me.

Tomorrow is for them...
