Normalcy is returning...

Not sure this entry should be about this, but it's all I keep thinking: the 80s... what the fuck?

I have to imagine people that were profitting off of 1950s nostalgia often told themselves "man, this was an a amzing decade - it will never die!!". That was fair in the 70s and 80s. But we're now entering our 3rd decade of 1980s nostalgia and it's getting passed onto people whose PARENTS weren't alive.

Does that make sense?

Like this was a school fund-raiser and a lot of these parents were born in the 90s. Or hell even, mid-80s. I was born in 1975 and really had no part of the 70s vibe, I was an 80s kid... Now those 80s kids are grandparents... and this shit just keeps going. I mean... this has to be surpassing all other decade themes from the 20th century... and now that the internet splintered all the 21st century decades... you really only have 5 that will live or die for the rest of the time 1950s-1990s. I guess we'll see where things stand in another 10 years, but it just feels like even the 90s kids have been sucked into the 80s nostalgia in a way that I never was for, say, the 1970s. Ya know? I feel like 1984-1999 is gonna be this stamp for the rest of time.

Maybe I'm wrong, but we're about to enter year 9 of doing this and it surely ain't slowin' down and although I do see 90s themed parties, etc... guess what still fits? THE DELOREAN TIME MACHINE. Because it's a FUCKING TIME MACHINE and techincally Part III came out in 1990.

I guess this is just a long way of saying RentTheDelorean was a pretty good idea. LOL

Carry on...
