What the shit is this? I mean, what the shit... is this?

So we're WALKIN' AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD. Getting our exercise... enjoying the day. I'm kind of in front with Cam, with Talya and Vienna right behind when Talya says "oooh, looks like a bee hive." I do not see a beehive...

...because I'm IMMEDIATELY STUNG UNDER MY EYE. So throw out the lifetime of theories about leave 'em alone, they'll leave you alone. So I immediately run away and grab my eye when I still hear it buzzing. I keep running and can SEE THE SHADOW of the fucker still above my head chasing me. How is that possible? I'm waving like an Animal Crossing character when BOOM I'm stung on my finger. What the fuck. Finally see the stinger, it's all over - I proceed to run home and get ice on it as I'm super worried about fucking up my face now since I'm about to play 2010 Adam and that'll be difficult to pull off if I've somehow ballooned my face and it's all saggy on one side. Elasticity of skin after 40 ain't no joke. That shit does NOT come back. LOL.

As you can see from the video however, it did little as this is what I was left with the following morning. It made for a funny meme:

Goddamn, that's CRAZY. BWAHAHAHAHA. And look at my finger...

I mean, I guess I'm allergic now? Like, that's not normal for a bee sting right? And yes, if that was indeed only one bee, it was a wasp or something - I'll go check it out later and see if I can find out. But still - that's a crazy reaction for a guy who has never had an allergy.

So yeah, I'm here to tell you that you can indeed just be walking down the street... do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING... and still get stung. I didn't walk OVER their nest - their nest was in a TREE that I was walking PAST. Goodness.

Just another story in The Journey I guess...

Adam

PS - Yes, the title was a little nod to the wonderful Beverly Cleary who I adored and Vienna has ripped through during quarantine. She read more than I even knew existed when it came to Ramona books. What a legacy!!! Rest well...
