If this had turned out any other way, it would not be on The Journey - it would be part of the next doc/reality show. So for that, I guess - YAY! Here's a nice Journey video:

...of course the reality is: WHAT THE FUCK. I don't care that his wife could nix the deal, I care that he set all that up, had me spend 6 hours driving and over $70 of gas before ever MENTIONING it to her. What a colossal waste of time. He gave me a lead on another truck, checked it out today? 2 feet too small. I mean... fuck.

So, this is on the WAY back burner for a bit. The reason this even came up is I have a gig 9-10 hours away in July that I'll clearly be towing the car for. Martin has been trying to sell his truck for awhile and once I did the Round Six podcast it became clear that one of the mechanics who lives in California could help me make this work. It would be pretty awesome for the sequel to show a successful engine swap in the midst of all the other shit going on. I mean, I still need a REASON for a sequel more than just addressing the cliffhanger of the fire. Without a narrative push it'll suck.

So, it looks like this won't be the narrative push. A couple days of searching and it's a bit of a needle in a haystack. Something perfect may land in my lap, but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh well, just another chapter in The Journey
