So for the past couple of days I've been a 24-7 dad as Talya's grandmother fell ill and just passed away Friday night. She'd been in poor health for as long as I've known her and although not shocking, you still can't imagine the day ever coming. Late 80s, married for over 71 years... you just think it's going to continue forever. Life has other plans...

The byproduct of this has been spending time with the kids the way Talya gets to when I'm working. It's been wonderful in that sense because so much of my time with them are in spurts - but massive blocks are so different. This time has seen a bunch of slip & slide, a new pool for the backyard and one afternoon we watched Journey videos of 2011 as the kids asked questions about how Talya and I met. Adorable stuff that lead to them watching me say "Let's Make Babies" during the wedding ceremony.

"Wait, how did you MAKE US?" Vienna stammered...

Yeeeeeeeeeah. I'm probably gonna throw it all down sooner rather than later? Because, why the fuck not tell them before it's weird? But I let it go at the time. Honestly because I think it would make a funny video and Vienna is hilarious lately with how long she fixates on stuff and really, really thinks about it. I explained that Talya and I hung out and she just decided to live here and a day later Vienna comes up to me: "So, she just decided to live here?" She found that fascinating. Every detail was pored over in her brain and she kept bringing it up. "Was her hair up or down when she spilled her tea?". Up. Stuff like that? Great shit. 4-5 is a great age range for sure.

Anyway, we happened upon the video of Talya and I playing Kinect Adventures and they were enamored. THEY WANTED TO DO THAT. Now I actually attempted to shot it to them when they were younger but unfortunately they were too small for it to register. This time however?!?! VOILA! NOW THEY'RE REAL PEOPLE! How adorable is this video...

It really is remarkably how fast everything happened in 6 years. Talya and I weren't even ENGAGED when we made that video and now two mini-mes are taking our place. Just remarkable how that works out.

Anyway, funeral tomorrow with the kids which should be interesting to say the least. Time waits for no one...
