- Am I really
writing this entry? I've waited wayyyyyyyyyyy longer
than usual and wayyyyyyyyyy longer than I've actually
been concerned until we arrive at today, where -
I know this game, I know what's happening -
I guess I have to fucking commit it to
print. I just still can't actually believe
it.

- So the meeting was
2 weeks ago on Monday, I gave them the notes and
all the ideas and stuff on Wednesday in the last
locked entry and got the email: "We will review and
get back to you really soon:)" I then added a bit more
I had forgotten. I understood hearing
anything on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday was probably
not gonna happen.

- Over the weekend I
had a ton more ideas to add, show titles... I'm ready
to at least throw some things back and forth...
Monday, Tuesday... still nothing - finally on
Wednesday I just write to all 3 of them: "So I kinda
can't stop thinking about these concepts, show titles
and seeing the shows play out in my head... is there
any time frame for this I should be waiting for? I'm
pretty anxious to bounce ideas off everyone..." And
thanks to Sidekick I see they all saw it within an
hour. Handy little app...

- 72 hours later, no
reply from all 3.

- Not Wednesday, not
Thursday and not Friday. If experience serves, when
things are still good, I would've gotten a "Sorry,
we're swamped with shows A and B right now, we'll hit
you up next week." The fact that none of them wrote
anything for 3 full days into a weekend means
they spoke to each other and decided not to say
anything. Maybe things aren't looking good and they
don't know the best way to say it until they know for
certain it's completely done. If that's the case you
get the silent treatment for the foreseeable future...
until weeks pass, you finally ask again and they give
you an abrupt email. Very and familiar simple
pattern.

- Which, in Adam
Defense Mechanism mode, means I need to start the
process of letting go of this avenue to move ahead.
I'm gonna be wallopped no matter what but I can
at least start to process thinking ahead. Of course
therein lies the rub? These two show ideas were their
germs, but I'm the only person that added anything to
them to make them truly unique... so... who owns them?
They gave me backyard makeover show, which we all know
there's a ton of... and I had the twist of helping the
husband get his dream yard (Show title: Dream Yards -
which I still haven't told them) but doing it in a way
that his wife is cool with... and she gets the final
say. So whose idea was that? Same with the challenge
one. They wanted to challenge me to meet a celebrity,
etc. But the concept fell flat in my head unless there
was a reason. I built a minigolf course to meet my
heroes, will they come? THAT makes more sense. I have
an end goal: Foo Fighters playing GolfKon. Now we have
something people can root for throughout. Just
meeting, say, Jerry Seinfeld? Uhm. Get a meet and
greet pass and say hi? Uhhh... I'm not 17. There needs
to be the added element of what I did and that
everyone will want to see these celebrities playing.
But truthfully? It's just a Hats & Minigolf
Episode but concentrating on the lead-up to it with me
chasing 3 celebrities, or my title "Chasing Heroes"
(which again, I still haven't made public) to see
who I can get to agree to come play. Basically,
what I've been doing this entire time anyway - trying
to make connections to get Jim O'Heir or Joel Murray
on the course. So again, do THEY own that idea? I
can't see how they can... on either of them.
And all of this is crazy to me because, we can split
everything as
LONG AS YOU RESPOND TO AN EMAIL.

I think I see what's actually happening here
and it's out of their hands. It doesn't look promising
for whatever reason and they can't respond until they
have that information. I'm just annoyed because
I want to be involved in their pitch to their
boss. I think I have some valuable ideas and just
the tiniest morsel of direction and I blew up
with stuff. To the point of thinking I need to
HOLD BACK because I'm giving away too much
without any response or any contract.

- But it's
completely strange to not even respond: "We
can't really deal with this until later in the month
because we're swamped, etc." The fact that they didn't
do that is just tough to overlook.

- So, we're here.
Don't care either way, I just want to know
because I believe those two conecpts DO have legs and
I would love to personally get to work on creating my
OWN sizzle reel for them. If I can even legally do
that however is beyond me and it's all just so
stupid: let's work together! Let's keep fleshing
out these ideas and get the money form Mr. Collins to
knock this out! Why the tip-toeing and word-watching
and FACKIN' HELL.

- Time will tell. We
keep waiting. Maybe they just want a development deal
with me signed before they talk about anything... but
they would've said that, no? Ugh. For now I do
what I did in 2009, think about me too damned
much and run and keep getting skinny.

I meant it more than at this moment:
thank GOD for my wife and kids. They're what
keeps all this well compartmentalized in this Journey
because my real life is fulfilling and
wonderful...
