~* ~ ZAPPOW! ~* ~ RANDOM!!! ~* ~ ZAPPOW! ~* ~
~* ~ ZAPPOW! ~* ~ GLEEFUL!!! ~* ~ ZAPPOW! ~* ~

It has to be over 7 years since I brought out The Journey Gods and the reason? My entire life has been gleeful and amazing the past couple of years and it simply seemed redundant. However, they seem to be a relic of the past "career" days, so I figured this bizarre moment in "The Journey" deserved the full treatment.

So Michael (guy from the defunct writer's group) calls me out of the blue and asks if I want to be part of a video round-table about the Oscars for Cinefix on YouTube. Why? Because I'm the first and longest running video-blogger and he thinks I'm funny.

...and I'll show up at 7AM in rush-hour traffic.

I mean, you do realize half of this business is being there, right? You'd be amazed at who won't show up on time or even at all. Hell I was in that Net Games movie in '02 simply because I owned a suit and could be there RIGHT THE FUCK THEN. Crazy. But I'm notoriously punctual. I mean, it's a sickness. I will lose a night's worth of sleep to make certain I make a 7 AM appointment across town... and I did. ;-)

So without further adieu, here is a Journey Video I didn't have to edit. I find that glorious. I freaking showed up, ate donuts, talked about movies, annnnd left. Good stuff.

I wear hats. That's what Journey Adam looks like when he needs a haircut and has a 3 week old at home and got up at 5:30 AM. :-)

Michael's the dude sitting next to me and he so clearly could've talked for 45 minutes per film. I feel like we were all jumpin' in with asides to his in-depth soliloquies but it was definitely a nice showcase of each personality at the table.

So now it's up to you guys to be good Journey Followers and like the video on youtube, subscribe to their channel, etc. and pimp that to friends on FB and whatnot. Would love to do it again and in fact I think it would be quite funny to do a follow-up to just how wrong we all were during the Oscars or immediately following.

And what a fun way to start the new year, huh? Let's keep the momentum going, shall we?

Adam

PS - I never really got to explain it during the roundtable... but I don't want to see "12 Years a Slave" simply because I can no longer gear up for depressing shit. I just... I just can't. I'm sure it's spectacular, but in the free time I do have? I really need to be laughing. I mean, if it sweeeeeeeps the awards I will probably force myself to appreciate it, but goddddddddddamn. I just don't have it in me right now. Sorry.
