9:16 PM, Saturday, August 11th, 2012:

I know this was part of the plan and all this means is we're progressing...

...but how, much, stuff, can a baby POSSIBLY need. Again, this is why we have been getting rid of our stuff and "making room for baby", but I look at her room and... seriously? She owns more clothing than I do. Now. Not, like when she's 10... Right now, Vienna has more clothing than I do. Granted, most homeless people have more clothing than I do, but the point is still valid. ;-)

We had to break up the baby showers into 3 different days because we simply couldn't host that many people. We had 2 at our place and the final one today at a restaurant. We presupposed that August would be too hot to have it outside and we, were, right. Record-breaking heat wave in the Valley right now. Enjoy...

Definitely some cute stuff and we're extremely excited and having a blast picturing Vienna in everything. After every shower Talya and I looked at each other and said: "We really are having a baby aren't we...". It's kinda nutty. I'm so deep into all the remodeling I barely think about the end result, but on days like this I certainly do. By the end of this final shower however, I was just shaking my head. Laura (Adler) was laughing at me. She knew exactly what I was thinking. "How, much, more, baby shit could this kid ever need?". Of course more, and now comes the part where we see what we NEED as opposed to what we HAVE and there'll be another round of stuff bought around the time of the birth...

...and of course every goddamned month for the next 18 years. Thankfully, at some point, Talya and I will be the guardian of what goes in and out of the house and there will be some semblance of order. I mean, if we don't have that - what the hell is the point of having a baby to create chaos!! :-) I love the chaos of kids, no doubt, but I abhor the overflow of shit that society has told us we "need" to have a kid. Like, I get all the clothes - that's just straight up fun right there. But the baby has her own food processor now. Come on man. Really? Should I have just built her a MINI-WING of the house with all this shit? LOL. However my favorite item so far has to be, without a doubt, a rocking chair that one of Talya's relative's painted...

How precious is that? So perfect...

Anyway, Jimmy gets here tomorrow so I have to go fix up his house a bit. Whew. So much change, so little time...

Vienna, please, please be on time. If you are a month early? Your house will bein shambles. I know this is temptin' the fates, but I'm gonna be honest and just come right out and ask you to take it easy in there. Nothin' good to see out here yet. K? K.
