Hello birthday month. Ready to
take on the world? Me too. Let's start...
Welcome to the world of
color Adam. No matter how similar you look to
your black and white headshots, casting
directors assume you must be in your fucking
50s if you're still using them. So we start
all over. Enter the incredible
Robin
Manno who
"Palmolive" hooked me up with two days ago.
She did the shoot and got us the
DVD with the shots the same freaking
day. (Future clients she would kill me if
everyone I refer expected that - I just
mention it to show how hard she tried to make
things work out for us) And here they
are...
Hello to Adam looking like
Adam. In fact wearing the same shirt he
seemingly wears every day. So much show that
the only photoshopping done in this picture
was to remove a hair out of place and take
the fucking STAINS off my shirt.
(sigh).
Alas, commercially - being
"cool" doesn't always sell. Scruffy,
hard-working "dad" most certainly can... and,
well it's kinda nice to just - not shave, put
on a long sleeve shirt with my messy hair and
be ready to go. :-) The reverse of this is of
course...
Awwwww...
how sweet. Totally soft, mushy and
loveable... of course all I see is
Spencer, but it's not horrible... just not
me. Oh and a few of you asked me why I didn't
actually do Spencer for this shoot when
I put these on Facebook and it's because
I was only doing looks that I could
pull off instantly for auditions. Spencer's
wig isn't good enough to audition with and
there simply isn't a call for that character
enough to do what I did for CBS
(actually keep Spencer's hair/eyebrows all
the time and add-on when I need to be
Adam). Thank the fuck christ for that, right?
Ugh. No, this is enough feeling trapped in my
own skin thank you very much. Of course, the
final look for Adam is my favorite by
far...
I'm literally DREAMING
of the moment when CAMERON gets booked
over Adam and I can do a little
Journey video of Cameron laughing his
ASSSSSSSS off at him. So yes, the little
quasi-character I made earlier this year
for my Tivo
audition
gets
his very own
headshot. It is
perfect for that techie-snarky dude that
could easily pitch an entire campaign.
Limited theatrically 'cause it's so
specific, I really have hope for this
commercially. Oh and again, theatrically
doesn't mean theater - it means movies/tv.
Confused a few of my friends on that.
I never talk about it on this site
'cause I've never considered myself an
actor. It's all a means to an end. Of
course I do actually act, but clearly
creating is where my heart thrives. But
Adam has two mortgages.
Now while we were at
it of course... had to let Cameron get a
shot
So glad
I knocked off 20 pounds since July.
I have a bit more to lose, but it shows
in my face - and these characters finally
look the way they're supposed to. For the
entire run of the Egos on CBS I was
25 pounds overweight and it really showed.
But again, please let Cameron beat Adam to a
booking. Oh what sweet irony for the dorky
brother. :-) And in fact I'm seriously
considering making multiple accounts for
Cameron, Adam and...
I mean come on.
Look at that PIMP. Dahahahaha. Very small
percentage of the time that this headshot
will be needed, but when it is needed?
Daaaaaaaaaamn. This is perfect. And
Gary, in general is just a great character
for selling stuff because he has that
goofy look. You know the one I'm talking
about...
Tell me
that's not a print ad for something.
BWAHAHAHA. Again, may hardly come up - but we
figured why not - let's just do it. He can
play hard-serious and hard-goofy very very
well. He. It just isn't me folks. After
nearly 10 years? That is a different human
being. Without a doubt. I mean you go
from that... to this:
This gives me chills.
It's actually so unsettling, Laura said
she can't even see it being used
theatrically. It's difficult to look at.
It's also the first time I've seen me
unshaven where I have true age in my face.
Whereas the smiling unshaven looks
younger? This looks older to me. My face
shape is more drawn, and fuck... there is
a world of sadness in that mofo. And the
slightly scruffed up hair projects this
mess of a backstory to me. All positives
to me. Glad I was able to get so much
in one shoot.
And again, to Robin
Manno, who is based out of
New York, thank you for seeing me so quickly and being
so easy to work with. And thank you for saying
I was too. ;) God how I love hearing
photographer's horror stories about clients, and then
wowing them with professionalism. In this case it was
shared equally between us. Yay for a positive start to
my birthday month. A birthday in which I turn
28-34.
Ha. Who says I'm not an actor.
Well, Cameron who is redesigning my site says it a bit
differently...
(sigh) Had to put that in the
video though. ;) Enjoy
