If you want to get Adam out of a funk? Ask him this question:

"Do you want to float downstream? Literally?"

I'm certainly not feeling like myself right now, and when someone very special to me wanted to meet... I really just didn't want to. I felt weak, beaten, exhausted - and I just didn't want her to see me like that. She understood, and left me alone... and then asked if I wanted to go canoeing. Nothing strenuous, just floating downstream. I'm not sure even she understood what that meant to me. My song "Float Downstream" has been a mantra since I wrote it last year - and literally/spiritually/figuratively exactly what I wanted right now. I said yes immediately... and enjoyed every second:

I haven't felt that blessed in a long time. The 3 hour experience was spent just talking, and smoothly going through the motions. It couldn't help but hit me over the head just how different this was than the previous 6 months. Helping each other paddle and avoid (and hit a few) rocks - and just sharing the time with each other talking. You forget that sometimes, people just go together. It takes absolutely no effort, no thought on how to "phrase things" for the other person - it just IS. And it's the most spiritually fulfilling thing you can ever experience after going through an incredibly trying few months where the exact opposite happened.

And I don't mean this as sleight to ***** in the least. It just is what it is. Sometimes you just cannot coexist with someone, and even attempting to becomes laborious. You start to just survive and you blame yourself. You think you're somehow toxic and I pray ***** also finds others to be around that just flows. Because goddamnit it is as healing a feeling as you can possibly have.

The person I was with, always wants to remain nameless and we've been through some storms together for sure. But she has a place in my heart and I just love the unique experiences we have with each other. I will never forget this healing moment. How perfect that it was your cough at the end of the song... which I just have to post here again.

Thank you so much. Your heart is, as always, lovely to me.

:-)
